Govt’s order on ID cards for pensioners

Dimapur March 24 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland after consultations with the Nagaland Pensioners Association (NPA) has decided to introduce identity cards for withdrawal of pension. Accordingly, the NPA has been authorized by the Government to issue ID cards-D to all Nagaland state government pensioners and family pensioners. The arrangement would be in force initially for a period of three years subject to further extension.  

An official notification issued by Menukhol John, OSD (finance) informed that the card would be issued through the District units of the NPA and possession of the ID cards will be compulsory without which the pension disbursing authority (treasury/banks) shall refuse payment of the same. An amount of Rs 20 at the time of initial issue and Rs 10 for every renewal shall be charged by the NPA towards the cost of stationary and administrative expenses, it was informed. The scheme shall take effect from April 1, 2006. All treasury/officers/banks have been informed to insist on the production of ID Card-D from pensioners/family pensioners at the time of pension withdrawal with effect from April 1, 2006 onwards.
