Dimapur, December 1 (MExN): The GPRN/NNC (Apex Body) said its council of kilonsers and army wings held an emergency meeting on November 30, condemning what it described as unauthorized and “treacherous impersonation” of its name by SS Pongkhu Yim and elements to mislead the Nagas.
In a press release, the MIP of GPRN/NNC (AB) stated that Pongkhu had been terminated earlier as “his activities were contrary to Christian ethos and the national Yezabo.”
The collective leadership warned that “serious action shall be initiated against SS Pongkhu if he continue to use the name GPRN/NNC (AB) and tarnish the good name of the government.”
The MIP said the sacrifices of Nagas and their call for the national movement “should not be misused for his personal gain and survival.” It added that the group “will not tolerate misuse and interference” in its activities by “certain disgruntled elements.”
The statement reminded Pongkhu that “he was invited to be the acting president and it is a disgrace on his part to claim the name GPRN/NNC (AB).” It also claimed Pongkhu “was against the use of the name GPRN/NNC (AB) as he lacks the basic intellect to comprehend the meaning of apex body and it was the brainchild of Francis Nikon.”
