GPRN/NNC (AB) impeaches acting president SS. Pungkho

DIMAPUR, JULY 1 (MExN): The GPRN/NNC (AB) has announced the impeachment of its acting president, SS. Pungkho, citing allegations of financial mismanagement, violation of the Yezabo (constitution), and arbitrary actions taken without the knowledge or consent of the government.

The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the Council of Kilonsers and the Tatar Hoho, the organisation stated in a press release issued by its MIP.

Following the impeachment, the house appointed KA. Naga as the new president, Victor Naga as chief of army, Hanpu Yimkhung as defence kilonser, and Khyothungo and Hanilo Rengma as chaplee kilonsers.

The meeting also terminated Alu Yimkhung, suspended chief of army, while declaring the removal of Francis Kikon as unconstitutional, stating that no Kilonser or Tatar member was present during the alleged meeting that led to his dismissal. The GPRN/NNC (AB) also banned SS. Pungkho from using its name and cautioned the general public against dealing with him. It alleged that despite prior warnings, Pungkho continued to claim the title of President of both the NNC (Parent Body) and GPRN/NNC (AB).
