GPRN/NSCN comments on defection

Perhaps it is a little bit too late for Hebron Camp to mention all the names of misguided elements who allegedly joined it during the last five months. Even if hundreds join, its politics is in disarray. The truth reveals itself clear before the Nagas. In the past five months, GPRN/NSCN has been strengthened by more than 70 National workers from Chakhesang, Chang, Konyak, Pochury, Sumi, Lotha, Angami Yimchunger, Zeliangrong tribes both from Civil and Military set up who abandoned Hebron Camp after experiencing untold discrimination and inconsistency in the so-called National principle. For GPRN/NSCN, the quest for a common future through Unity and Reconciliation overshadows civil and military workers streaming in from Hebron Camp. In the present Naga context, publicity gimmick to garner support doesn’t work.

The publication of a six months list of defectors by the so-called MIP is, at best, a desperate attempt to cover up simmering differences between hardliners and moderates within Muivah’s gang. Perhevilie Angami is a Leacy and not a Tatar. He defected from Hebron camp and joined GPRN/NSCN early this year. Given his penchant for defection, it is unlikely that he will stay at Hebron Camp for long. The less said about the others the better. Many of the given names are either discharged or on the verge of being terminated from service for indiscipline and other offences. GPRN/NSCN regrets little when the wind blows away the dead leaves.

If Muivah’s gang still believes that Nagas are politically naive and susceptible to their egocentric philosophy, so be it. If they still believe that they are the masters of Nagaland and that political solution should come through them, GPRN/NSCN suggests that they pinch themselves and wake up to reality. The Naga people have given their verdict and should Muivah’s gang fails to abide by Naga people’s resolution towards finding a political solution with the GOI on the strength of Naga unity, it must leave the Nagas alone.
