GPRN/NSCN dismisses ‘directive’ served to UT Chairman

Cautions against ‘provocation’

Dimapur, June 18 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN informed in a press release that it dismissed an alleged summoning of its UT (Union Territory) Chairman purportedly by the rival “Unification” led by N Kitovi Zhimomi.

The release, issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), said that the GRPN/NSCN has maintained restraint despite what was alleged to be “several provocation” from the rival camp since the “change of leadership” happened on April 21, 2024.

Giving a backdrop to its assertion, it said that following the change of guard, the GPRN/NSCN’s UT Chairman opened an “investigation” in connection with “tax collection” under the Unification banner, while summoning the ones involved.   However, it held that, on June 14, one Tovishe Shohe came to the residence of the UT Chairman Hekiye Zhimomi, who purportedly served an “order from Unification government” demanding to know the reason the summoning.

While stating that the directive served to its UT Chairman stand rejected, the MIP release said that it will continue to “root out imposters” cautioned those collecting tax in its name.
It further said that GPRN/NSCN, being the people’s government, has remained silent thus far in compliance with the June 6 Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) resolution. “Nonetheless, the impeached and expelled imposters have taken advantage of our silence, but there is a limit to how much we can tolerate,” it added, indication possible response in the future.
