Despite repeated appeals by various civil societies and NGOs for maintaining peace among the various Naga political groups, the Khehoi campers in total disregard of the peoples appeal had once again displayed their true colour by attacking the NSCN cadres who were residing in a kheti hut away from public inhabited area. The NSCN cadres heeding to the public demand not to stay in public areas and also from the higher authority’s directive, had gone and stayed in one kheti hut between Satakha and Zunheboto unaware of the Khehoi gangs presence or intention but they were suddenly surrounded and attacked by the Khole-Kitovi group at about 3:30 A.M this morning which lasted for about 30 minutes and in the pursuing firing, two of our brave soldiers namely Lieutenant Khejeto and Sergeant Major Ahovi fell prey to the enemy bullets while Corporal Yomi Konyak also sustained bullet injury. The NSCN while saluting the brave martyrs who fearlessly fought with the traitors till their last breath also wishes the injured cadre a speedy recovery. The continuous provocation against the NSCN by the Khole-Kitovi group have reached its zenith besides the meekness and low profile maintained by the NSCN in line with peoples desire for maintaining peace in Naga country have been misunderstood by the Khole-Kitovi group as weakness hence, the NSCN while not encouraging the killing among Naga brothers be it NSCN (IM) or Khehoi group, killing is very unfortunate. It is demeaning ourselves we felt that we should stand up to our own standards and leaving behind this ism among ourselves and stand as a true Naga before the world. We also regret the deaths of U groups cadres but it was done purely on defensive and retaliatory measures by our boys. It is to be noted that NSCN is always for peace among the Naga brothers but U group is always on the offensive side but the NSCN being the peoples government always followed the peoples direction but it is capable of facing any given situation anywhere anytime.
