The press note has also stated that the attack on a Sanskrit teacher at Sainik School, Punglwa, by miscreants, causing serious neck injury as reported in the press, may be the handiwork of the two fugitives. The bike which was found at Sailhem Village by Naga Army reportedly belongs to the injured teacher, the press note disclosed. “GPRN/NSCN will not rest until the perpetrator of the inhuman crime is nabbed. Naga Army seeks co-operation from all sections of people”.
It was informed that an M 21 rifle was recovered by the Naga Army from the spot including the command bag belonging to the escaped fugitive. The dead body of Herato Sumi was handed over to Indian administration at Athibung by Naga Army.
According to the MIP note, the two fugitives, formerly a Sgt. Major and a Private in the Naga Army had murdered Daniel Yeptho of Viyilho Village in Sumi Region on 19th November 2011 without a reason. They somehow crossed Sumi Region, Rengma Region and entered UT II to join one outfit, informed the press note.  GPRN/NSCN UT II authorities had alerted Naga Army after reports of extortion on transport trucks by unidentified gunmen.
It was informed that Naga Army personnel reached Sailhem Village and at around 2 A.M. There was a two wheeler parked nearby a house and when the door was knocked to ask for information, the accused, who were sleeping in the very house opened fire from inside. In the gun battle Herato was killed and Vihuto escaped with injuries. “The hunt is still on to capture or kill the escaped fugitive”, the MIP note stated.
