GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) announces new joinings

DIMAPUR, JUNE 8 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) has announced that a group of national workers from the Chang Region, representing both the Civil and Army wings, have formally joined its fold, parting ways with the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) led by Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao and Alezo Venuh.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the group said they were “pleased to unveil the definitive list of National workers from the Chang Region, representing both Civil and Army Wings.” The statement said these individuals “have taken a bold step into the mainstream, forging a new path after parting ways with the GPRN/NSCN Naga Unification.”

The Chang Region members who joined the GPRN/NSCN led by President Maj. (Retd.) R.M. Lotha and Ato Kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi include Lieutenant Col. Nukshi, Major Ajong, Captain Kaimang, Captain Ato, Sergeant Maj. Pesu, and Lieutenant Chollen in the Naga Army; and in the civil wing: Dy. Kilonser (RAO) Bongei, Dy. Kilonser Y. Mangko, and Leacys Tongpang, C. Laba, Y. Sipong, Imti Choba, and A.Y. Sipong.

According to the statement, “The National workers from the Chang Region, having decisively separated from the So-Called Unification on June 4, 2025 and have openly expressed their dissatisfaction with their current leadership.”

“They acknowledge that the long-standing Naga struggle has reached a critical juncture, and there is no viable future under their present leadership,” the MIP noted.

The group, it said, has pledged allegiance to the leadership of Lotha and Zhimomi, stating they are “resolutely committed to supporting true and effective leaders under the GPRN/NSCN led by President Maj. (Retd.) R.M Lotha and Ato Kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi, who can guide Nagas towards a brighter future and unconditionally focus on achieving an early Naga Solution that would secure the future for the younger generation.”

They further declared “loyalty and commitment to strengthen the GPRN/NSCN and make committed effort to solidify the hard-earned ‘Agreed Position’ that is poised for finalization between the Nagas and the Government of India.”

It welcomed the new entrants, stating: “The GPRN/NSCN family warmly welcomes and recognizes the dedication of the National workers from both the Civil and Army sectors of the Chang Region. We appreciate your unwavering trust in our leaders as we are pursuing a timely and successful Naga Solution.”
