GPRN/NSCN mourns

DIMAPUR, JUNE 15 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely passing of Major Pito, a veteran officer of the Naga Army, who died on June 14.

According to an official condolence message issued by the office of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, General Headquarters, Naga Army, the late Major Pito (Army No. 11282), son of Vihoi from Thakiye village in the Sumi region, served the Naga national cause with distinction for 25 years. He was enrolled in the Naga Army on June 10, 2000, and remained in active service until his demise.

“Service to one’s nation that ends till the last breath is the highest form of patriotism,” the statement read, hailing Major Pito as one of the most promising officers in the movement. His dedication and service, it said, will remain etched in the pages of Naga history.

The GPRN/NSCN extended its heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for comfort and peace during this time of grief. “May your soul rest in eternal peace,” the message concluded.
