
Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has mourned the demise of late Khekiho Marcel Chophy. The GPRN/NSCN in a condolence message issued by the MIP stated that the collective leadership and all rank and files is in deep mourning at this hour. “The Naga National and GPRN/NSCN has lost a truly remarkable man,” it added. Paying tribute to late Khekiho Marcel Chophy, the MIP said that “leaders found him intelligent and well versed in national affairs. Youngsters found him to be a thoroughly efficient administrator full of life and vigour. A visionary and focused leader was he not only on the Naga national affairs but in this journey called life.”
“Cutting across Naga political groups, he was known and highly respected for his efficiency. Growing up, he had a solid foundation, as a young and energetic student leader at his hometown Atoizu in Zunheboto District and later in Shillong as President of Naga Students’ Union. He was destined to serve the Naga Nation and this was duly fulfilled when he joined the National service in 1998,” the message mentioned.
Giving further account on his life, the MIP stated that in the GPRN/NSCN, he was a strong pillar admirably served the Nation as Public Relations and NGOs Secretary, Chaplee Secretary, Kilo Secretary and Chief Secretary. He was elevated to National Tatar Hoho in 2015 and at the time of his demise, he was serving the Nation as Dy. Kilonser in the Chaplee Ministry.
“At this hour of grief, we wish to invoke our Heavenly Father’s love and comfort to be upon his dearest wife Tokheli Khekiho Chophy, their Children and relatives,” the GPRN/NSCN conveyed while praying for the departed soul to rest in peace.
