GPRN/NSCN mourns demise of Hozheto Chophy

Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The Collective Leadership of Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak, President and N Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser along with all the members of GPRN/NSCN have expressed sadness to learn about the demise of  Z Hozheto Chophy on March 27. 

Late Chophy was the Ato Kilonser, NNC/NPGN & Co-Convener Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs).

“The untimely loss of such a great leader was shocking and heartbreaking,” stated a condolence note issued by MIP, GPRN/NSCN, while paying tribute to late Chophy as a proficient and upright leader who inspired the Naga people with his sheer dedication and responsibility in every field he was associated with.

According to the GPRN/NSCN, he was as school Head Master during his earlier career and to served Western Sumi Hoho both as General Secretary and President before dedicating himself for the Naga national service.

Besides being instrumental in strengthening his tribesmen, late Chophy was a veteran Naga national leader who conveyed the reality of various realms of the society and was committed for unity and welfare of the Naga people, it said. 

His outstanding leadership and discharge of responsibilities in various capacities in the field of political and social activities would be very much cherished in days to come, it added. 

The GPRN/NSCN further noted gives reverence to late Chophy for  “nonchalantly serving for the society and the Naga nation with genuine concern and dedication till his last breath.”

His demise is a great loss and deeply felt by GPRN/NSCN in particular and the Naga society for whom he had made many remarkable social and political contributions during his lifetime, it said. 

“The GPRN/NSCN conveys heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prays the Almighty God to grant solace in this grief time. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it added.
