GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo) denounces alleged ‘murder’

Dimapur, December 7 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo) has expressed shock over what its Yimkhiung Region described as the “cold-blooded murder” of Colonel Yanrikiu (Yankiu) Yimkhiung on December 5 at Shamator Town.

A press release from Brigadier Khuiho Yeutho of GHQ, Naga Army, informed that the late Yanrikiu was enrolled in the National Service on February 15, 1994, and served for 31 years with full commitment to the cause of the Naga National Movement until his last.

His impressive record of service and dedication to the Naga Nation would be cherished in the pages of Naga history, it said. Meanwhile, the GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo) Yimkhiung Region condemned and registered its deepest outrage and grave concern “regarding the actions of the perpetrator or perpetrators who have blatantly violated the ENPO resolution and imperilled the ongoing peace efforts within the region.”

Accordingly, it called upon all conscientious Naga citizens to denounce the “heinous crime” in the strongest possible terms.

“Regardless of who may be responsible, every effort shall be exerted to ensure that no stone is left unturned in identifying the culprits and securing justice in accordance with the law of the land,” it added.
