
Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): The Sumi Region GPRN/NSCN at its “Leacy session” held on February 12 last resolved to hasten reconciliation and unity among the Nagas, the house resolved to fully support the “Naga Reconciliation” process led by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR).
It also resolved to strictly check on corrupt village administrators particularly village council chairmen, village development board chairmen and secretaries with regard to utilisation of “Indian Schemes like NREGA and SSA”. “Any Village administrator found siphoning off public money for self enrichment shall be dealt sternly by GPRN/NSCN regional Authority,” the GPRN/NSCN affirmed in a press note.
The note also stated that the Sumi National Workers shall under all circumstances defend the political right of the Nagas under the “leadership of chairman S S Khaplang, general secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi and general Khole, commander-in-chief, Naga army”. It also stated that in the session, it was strongly reaffirmed the Sumi general public meeting resolution adopted on January 15, 2008. The session further resolved to support the initiatives of the All Sumi Students Union and its units in ensuring absentee teachers and unqualified proxy teachers do not destroy the academic future of Sumi generations. In regard to that, the GPRN/NSCN Sumi Region demands all absentee teachers to immediately report for work.
Furthermore, it mentioned that the Public Organisers (P.O) of the region attended the session and nine new “Leacys” were elected and took oath of allegiance during the session.
