GPRN/NSCN Prez RM Lotha urges unity, strength, and renewal for Naga people

Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): Major (Retired) R.M. Lotha, President of the GPRN/NSCN led by N. Kitovi Zhimomi and RM Lotha, called upon the Naga people to step into 2025 with unity, resolve, and a renewed commitment to the shared vision of a united Naga nation.

Lotha reflected on the trials and triumphs of 2024, acknowledging the resilience that has kept the Naga spirit alive. “Although our challenges are great, each of us had the courage and determination to rise up and meet them,” he said. “It is that very spirit that has kept the Naga Dream alive for generations, and it is this spirit that will keep it alive for generations to come.”

He urged Nagas to pause and consider the journey they have undertaken, renewing their resolve for the road ahead. “We stand at the crossroads of history, where the challenges of our time demand courage, unity, and an unyielding commitment to the ideals we hold dear,” he stated.

Lotha reminded that the strength of a people lies in their collective will, emphasizing that division weakens, but unity empowers. “The challenges we face are not the burden of one group, one tribe, or one organization alone – they belong to all of us. Let us not be divided by our ideologies, origins, or affiliations. Let us instead be inspired by the vision of a united Naga Nation, where every voice strengthens the whole, and every hand contributes to the greater good.”

Lotha also invoked the sacrifices of the forebears of the Naga national movement, whose dreams, determination, and courage laid the foundation for the current struggle. “Let us remember the immense hardships they went through in their endeavor to secure our freedom – the Naga Freedom,” he said. He stressed that the actions of today’s generation must honor their legacy and build a future aligned with their aspirations.

He appealed to all sections of Naga society, including various political groups and civil organizations, to set aside their differences and unite for a common cause. “Today, more than ever, we must set aside the differences that divide the Naga family and embrace the common purpose that binds us,” he said. “Shoulder to shoulder, we can face the storms and emerge victorious, for no force can withstand the resolve of a people united in purpose.”

Lotha encouraged the people to embrace dialogue, understanding, and a shared commitment to freedom, justice, and progress. “As we step into this new year, let us pledge to leave behind the grudges and discord of the past,” he said. “Together, we can create a path towards a brighter future, where every Naga citizen plays their part in nation-building.”

The president envisioned 2025 as a year of action and unity, emphasizing that the time for dreaming and planning must now give way to collective effort. “This new year shall not merely be a passage of time,” he declared. “For us, it shall be a call to action, a moment to strengthen the bonds of unity and fraternity that tie us together as torchbearers of our nation's destiny.”

Lotha called on all Nagas to renew their commitment to the shared cause, urging them to let patriotism guide their endeavors.

“The time to dream is now; the time to act is now,” he said. “Let us march onward with unwavering determination and unity of purpose. The future belongs to those who dare to dream and have the courage to make it a reality.”
