Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): The ‘chairman’ of the “GPRN/NSCN” of Sumi region today responded to charges of manhandling and harassing the Chief Medical Officer of Zunheboto on September 3 by some of the outfit’s cadres.
According to a note from the Sumi region ‘chairman’ which was released through the group’s MIP, the CMO was “preparing to pay tax to the very group which banned the Sumi Hoho.” This is the reason why the “GPRN/NSCN” Sumi region “requested” the CMO to “kindly” reconsider his decision “with regard to payment of tax to Muivah’s group.” The note asserted that “accepted some harsh words were exchanged during the course of making our points clear to him but never was he manhandled nor mentally harassed as alleged in the papers.” The note also termed as unfortunate that the Nagaland state Medical minister “jumped to conclusion and issued condemnation note without ascertaining the truth.” “We have sorted out all issues” and “the money which was deducted from the medical department for Muivah’s group has been returned to the employees for it belongs to them,” the note stated.
