GPRN/NSCN response to the 25th March, 2013 incident

On the 25th of March, 2013 night, a vehicle made a forceful entry at the Aboi Designated camp of the GPRN/NSCN, breaking the pole that was placed at the gate.

The situations being tensed, the cadres thought the camp was being attacked and arrested the people travelling in the vehicle. Who makes forceful intrusions at the encampments of Naga Army in the middle of the night? Every sane person would take that as an attack on them. No doubt, the people detained were manhandled by the cadres on the line of duty. The forceful entry could have been answered with even being shot to death without any questions asked. But they were interrogated, and after learning that it was a medical team consisting of a doctor and his aides, who were being transferred from Longlen to Mon, and had lost their way, they were released in the presence of the Konyak Union, Aboi unit. Dr. Mhonjan was never kidnapped by the cadres assigned to the designated camp, Aboi.

Considering that the Khaplang group is concerned about the life of Dr. Mhonjan, why is the 25th March, 2013 incident which has already been resolved being dug out? Their group dragging out an already settled incident, stating that Dr. Mhonjan’s life is at risk is questionable. Aren’t they making his life riskier by mentioning about an already closed chapter of his life? Are they not endangering his life by discussing about the topic in the print media, so that they can take a dig at our government?

Secondly, the GPRN/NSCN is concerned about the way the Khaplang group is trying to act as the mouth piece of the Konyak people. Any issue that is prevalent between the Khaplang group and the GPRN/NSCN is purely between us. It is neither between our government and the Konyak people, or the Khaplang group and the Konyaks. And any incident happening in the Konyak land and the Khaplang group writing against it, adding stories that never happened or could even be dreamt of is not appropriate. This is indirectly brain-washing the innocent minds of the Konyak people, creating barriers between the people and organisations, causing un-rest peace and isms in the minds of the people. The Khaplang group trying to malign the image of our government can be understood. As that is what they are good at. But trying to instigate the minds of the public by polluting their consciences should be done away it. People with vested interest can say or write anything to satisfy their urge, but crossing the horizons and adding more than what they can eat on their plates can be considered as living in fools’ paradise.
