The new school building of Government Primary School (GPS) Aoyim village under Chumoukedima was inaugurated today by Temsunaro Aier, Commissioner & Secretary IPR and State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.
The School building was constructed against the approval made during 2021-22 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Addressing the inaugural function Aier congratulated the school for successful completion of the new building.
She lauded the community leaders for coming forward with their contributions over and above the sanction made by Samagra Shiksha. She also expressed satisfaction on the quality of work.
Aier stated that active community participation in school is extremely vital to achieve the desired outcomes.
She also acknowledged Sunep Lemtur, GB Aoyim village and his wife for donating huge land for setting up the school in the village.
While speaking to the village leaders and teachers, Aier informed them that the state is focusing on improving the learning outcomes of students through various interventions.
She made the reference of NEP 2020 shift to competency based education and urged the teachers to ensure that every child acquires grade appropriate competencies.
‘Urges villagers to take active participation in the school’
Aier reminded the gathering about the NAS 2021 and FLS 2022 reports of the Ministry of Education, Government of India where the state achievement level remains poor and called on all the stake holders to work hard.
Quoting an African proverb "It takes a village to raise a child," she stated that no child should be left behind and urged the villagers to continue taking active participation in the school.
She encouraged the villagers to continue nurturing the school to let it grow into a high school or higher secondary school in future.
The programme was chaired by Aotula Anichari, Teacher GPS Aoyim.
Lanuzulu, Pastor ABC invoked God's blessings while welcome address and vote of thanks was proposed by Imlinuken Ao, Chairman village council and Lima G.B respectively.
The programme was attended by village leaders, teachers, Dr Longri former MLA, District Education Officer. N. Meyase, Sr. SDEO Dimapur, SDEO Chumoukedima, EBRC officials and officials from District Education office Dimapur.
Temsunaro Aier was accompanied by Dr.Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director, Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director and Er. Atokshe, JE from State Mission office Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.
