GPS Lerümedi gets new building

Kohima, May 19 (DIPR): The new school building of Government Primary School (GPS), Lerümedi (T. Khel Model Village) was inaugurated on May 19 by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor, IAS as the chief guest.  

In his address, Rovilatuo Mor expressed happiness for the establishment of the new school building. Stating that education is an essential factor and with the Right to Education Act, he said that the DMA, SSA has underlined its programme to provide education wherever there is no establishment of School. He therefore said that with the benefits of RTE Act along with the contributions and supports of Education Department and Community of T. Khel Kohima Village, the GPS Lerümedi could be established. He thanked all the contributors especially to the land donors Zatsunuomia Clan on behalf of the district Administration, State Government and Education Department.   Chairman V.E.C, Thepfuhulie Belho while giving a report on building committee stated that the new school building was funded under SSA, with a total budget of Rs. 22, 18,182. In his report, he said that the new School building has three class rooms with toilet and bathroom attached. He further requested the Education Department, DMA, SSA Kohima and all concerns for more supports in whatever possible ways towards achieving quality education and assured to be vigilant and committed in giving out their best.   Other who also spoke included Chairman T. Khel Council, Thepfuvilie Suohu and Assistant District Coordinator, DMA SSA Kohima, Thongsenlo. President T. Khel Students Union, Ruokuobeituo Suohu delivered the welcome address while invocation was offered by Chaplain of Khedi Baptist English School, Keviyie Belho and vote of thanks was given by Head Teacher, Zakieseno. Students of G.P.S Lerümedi T. Khel Model Village also presented a special number on the occasion.
