GPS/GMS Notun Bosti celebrates Golden Jubilee

Morung Express News Dimapur | December 11   The GPS/GMS Naga New Model (Ao), Notun Bosti Ao Khel, Dimapur celebrated its Golden Jubilee on December 11.  

The special guest R Amongla Jamir, District Education Officer (DEO), Dimapur speaking on the occasion congratulated the school management, teachers, students, parents and Notun Bosti for achieving the milestone.  

While appreciating the collective efforts of the stakeholders she urged the community to work together even in the future to take the school to new heights. “Just like its name, ‘Naga New Model’ let this school become a model to other schools,” she added.  

The DEO stated that the school has potential to be upgraded to Government High School (GHS) and appealed to all stakeholders to work together with a positive attitude. Lamenting on the issue of fund mismanagement in schools, she urged the gathering “to give the best for the coming generations.”  

T Moang Longchar, Chairman School Management Committee and I Menang, Chairman Ao Khel Council, Notun Bosti exhorted the gathering.  

The Head Teacher, Arenkala Aier in her welcome address paid rich tribute to the visionaries who started the school in 1968. She informed the gathering that four visionaries Imlinar Aier, Lipoknungsang, Imnatoshi and Sungjemmeren started the school with ten students and one teacher. The school now boasts of 278 students and 18 teachers.  

The Jubilee Souvenir detailing the history of the school was also released on the occasion. The School Choir enthralled the gathering with “It’s the time of the great Jubilee.”
