Grace Revival concludes with emphasis on the Gospel of Grace

Dimapur, May 3 (MexN): The final day of the Grace Revival, organized by the Sinai Ministry and Faith Harvest Church, concluded in Dimapur Friday. After a time of praise and worship led by the team from Faith Harvest Church, Pastor Gabriel Tan gave profound insight from the word of God. He began by saying that the church of God has been deceived and robbed of the knowledge of the Gospel of Grace.

Pastor Tan pointed out that as opposed to the criticism against preaching on Grace - that it makes one’s conscious numb to sin - he said on the contrary, such attack is branding the conscience with  perpetual consciousness of sins (1 Timothy 4:2). Tan made the message of the Gospel clear by explicating that just as we need not clean ourselves in order to bathe, we are not required to try and cleanse our own sins before approaching God for forgiveness. He highlighted that the only two persons in the Bible whose faith were marvelled at by Jesus were Gentiles. The message of Grace that requires us to simply come as we are was further clarified when Pastor Tan explained the process of sacrificial offering for forgiveness of sins in the Old Covenant. The high priest would only check to see if the offering was perfect and not the one who was making the offering - his sinful nature being a given. Tan explained that people in the Old Covenant only had typologies that pointed to Jesus, yet they experienced God’s grace. Tan concluded by saying that the Gospel of Grace needs to be preached-“It is the Gospel of Grace that will bring unity to the church.”

Through Pastor Lawrence Lim, the congregation was blessed with a profound revelation of the Holy Communion. He explained that the Lord’s Supper is done not to remember our sins and be weighed down by it; or partaken of because we feel we are worthy of it. Rather it is precisely to remind ourselves that all our sins have been eternally forgiven. “We live in a fallen world of sin, sickness and death. The Lord’s Supper is a reminder that we have a way out of the divine sentence upon our fallen world.”

Pastor Lawrence Lim through his own personal testimony shared that we often misunderstand ‘righteousness’ as a measurement of our moral behaviour.  He explained that this misunderstanding can lead to instability in our walk with God. “In Grace, there is no accusation but conviction of sins, no condemnation but eternal forgiveness.”

Dreamz Unlimited and Tali Angh & the Band ministered at the final session through a play and songs respectively. The Revival concluded with a powerful time of ministry where many received prayer, salvation, healing and
breakthroughs.
