KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 29 (MExN): Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, which is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Human Resource Department with an intension to enrich Rural India, was conducted at Shichimi village under Akuluto Block of Zunheboto. Under this programme a Gram Sabha was organized to discuss the matters related to the development of the villages by the Nodal officer of UBA Dr RK Chaurasia, Sr. Scientist & Head; Wapangtoshi Longkumer (SMS, Plant Protection) and Edenly Chishi (SMS, Horticulture).
In the first session the village elders, GB, VDB’s and farmers were sensitized about the programme so that they can actively participate for the development of village.
In the second session the members discussed at length about the various problems faced in the village like water scarcity, lack of employment opportunities, lack of awareness regarding different schemes of flagship programmes etc.
