Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) - Don Bosco, implementing SBI Gram Seva programme Dimapur organised an exposure visit with duckling primary partners from the adopted villages of Khriezephe, Diezephe, and Tsithrongse village to Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), KVK Peren for cross learning on June 19. A total of 45 duckling primary partners participated in the programme, informed a press release.
Dr L Babita Devi, Chief Technology Officer (Animal Scientist), KVK Peren welcomed the participants to the research farm and elaborated in detail about the different activities undertaken at KVK farm. She also gave a lecture on duckling farming, different breeds of ducks, different duck rearing systems, how duck feeding is done, and some most common duck diseases that need to keep in mind when rearing ducks.
Among others, Dr KL Meena, Principal Scientist and Head encouraged the participants to benefit from the visit and learn the practical aspect through their visit, while Dr James Kikon, Asst Chief Technology Officer (Soil Scientist), elaborated on how to start entrepreneurship which requires much dedication keen interest, the release stated.
Dr Patu Khate, Asst Chief Technology Officer (PBG) also explained about the various research activities under plant breeding and emphasised on importance of selection of good quality, variety or seeds for starting any farming activities.
AIDA, through SBI Gram Seva took the initiative to organise the exposure trip and visit to the duck and poultry demonstration and integrated farming system unit at KVK Peren farm. The purpose of the exposure was to introduce the participants to scientific methods of rearing and to gain practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge, the release stated.
