Longleng, April 28 (DIPR): The Rural Development and Power departments of Longleng district observed Gram Shakti Abhiyan on April 28 at MIS Hall, DRDA Longleng. The programme was held to create awareness on implementation of government schemes and programmes to the general mass.
Vitoka, EAC Longleng speaking on behalf of district administration encouraged the masses to be well aware of the government schemes and projects for their proper implementation and benefit of the people and also to keep updated with the schemes implemented for them.
Short speeches were also delivered by BDO, Tamlu and president of VCC/VDB, while keynote and welcome address was delivered by APO, DRDA.
PowerPoint presentation on MGNREGA & PMAY (G) under RD department and SAUBHAGYA programme under Power department was presented by SDO Power department, Longleng. Under the Gram Shakti Abhiyan, a meeting cum training of all the village council chairmen (VCC) and Village Development Board (VDB) secretaries was also held at DC’s conference hall here on April 27.
Nodal officers in-charge of Longleng district briefed the village functionaries for strict implementation of government schemes in the district, while the latter shared the grievances faced by the general public regarding opening of account in the banks to avail the facilities provided by the Government. They also informed about inconvenience created by the banks for opening accounts.
Apart from staffs of Rural Development and Power, the VDBs and VCCs under Longleng district attended the programme.
