Gram Shakti Abhiyan observed in Punglwa village

Peren, April 30 (DIPR): As part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (Village Self-Governance Campaign), Gram Shakti Abhiyan programme was held at Punglwa village in Peren on April 28 with the nodal departments – Rural Development and Power.

Chubawati Chang, ADC Peren in his keynote address to the villagers stated the main concept of the programme is to make the village strong and take it forward, and also to provide the villagers with what is due to them. The programme will be successful only if the village functionaries cooperate with the government, he maintained.  

Keyirangding Hegui, PD Peren stated the villagers are really privileged since they are the only ones to have RURBAN facilities in the State. Apart from the regular VDB programmes, the RURBAN programme has greatly catered to the needs of the village economy, he noted.  

He further enlightened the villagers to avail the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system introduced by the government, where Aadhaar linkage with Bank Account of the beneficiaries is a must. Appreciating the cleanliness of the village and the cooperation of the village council and its members in developing the village, Hegui assured all possible help to the villagers.  

Earlier, S Yanpamo Odyuo, SDO Power, Jalukie elaborated on PMSBHGY, Integrated Power Development Schemes (IPDS), and Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) to the villagers.  

The Village Council Chairman in his speech appreciated the government for the initiatives undertaken.
