
Kohima, April 24 (DIPR): As part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan Special Campaign, DC Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS flagged of the ceremony on April 24 at DC’s Office, Kohima. Flagging off the 15 vehicles for carrying LED Bulb to 58 targeted villages under Kohima district, the DC stated that the main objective of the programme was to promote Unnat Jyoti through affordable LEDs for all (UJALA Yojna) and to conserve Energy at Home, Office, Commercial Institutions by using Energy Efficient Appliances and star Labelled products which would result in significant reduction in monthly electricity bill as well as reduction in outages of power supply which is mainly due to over loading of existing Transformers, Distribution lines etc. causing unwanted power interruption. The DC impressed upon the beneficiaries to make use of the LED Bulb to reduce the load on the transformers. Adding that it would also help the environment by reducing Carbon footprint, he informed that the individual can avail at the subsidized rate of Rs. 50 per bulb and 3 bulbs per family by producing any of the documents such as Aadhaar, Ration Card etc. The teams will reach respective villages from April 24 to May 5. The campaign was organized by Kohima District Administration in collaboration with EESL.
Central team holds meeting in Zbto, Longleng
Zunheboto, April 24 (DIPR): The inter-ministerial central team led by Abhishek Chandra, Deputy Secretary to the Government of India accompanied by Sanjay, Under Secretary to the Government of India held a coordination meeting with Zunheboto district Nodal departments under Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan (GSA) on April 24 at DC’s conference hall, Zunheboto. In the meeting the visiting team inquired and took reports on various central government flagship programs taken up under the Abhiyaan in the district. The flagship programs includes Pradhan Mantri Uijawala Yojana(LPG connections for eligible families), SAUBHAGGYA (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijili Hat Ghar Yojana), Ujala Scheme (LEDs for all), Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bhima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana, and Mission Indradhanush (immunization of children under 2 years and all pregnant women). A PowerPoint presentation was presented on SUBHAGYA scheme by Power department Zunheboto. Earlier in the morning the team visited Askhomi village. Longleng: In connection with conduct of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan (Village Self Government Campaign), a coordination meeting with the Nodal Officer, G. Sajith Kumar, Under Secretary to the Government of India and line departments was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam at DC’s conference hall on April 23. While briefing on the nature of meeting with the Nodal Officer, the DC said that the purpose of the meeting was to brief the Nodal Officer about implementation of seven central flagship program such as Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Abhiyan), Ujala Scheme, Pradhan Mantrijan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Mission Indrahanush by the line department. He informed that the nodal officer will visit the villages to ascertain implementation of these schemes. The DC also informed that the flagship program was to be implemented and completed by May 5 as per the direction. He also directed the line departments to submit their respective activities taken up and problems faced by the department to him at the earliest. In this regard the officers and representatives of line departments present such as the PHED, Power, Home, Health & Family Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies, NRLM, Rural Development Department and Agriculture highlighted about their respective activities to the Nodal officers. They also raised issues and grievances faced by the departments in implementing the programs at the village levels and put up suggestions for remedies.
