Green March campaign held in Nagaland

Dimapur, January 31 (MExN): As a part of the ‘Prakriti, Paryavaran Aur Hum- Green March’ campaign, RN Jindal, Director (CP Division), Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India visited the state of Nagaland from January 28 to 31.   ‘Prakriti, Paryavaran Aur Hum- Green March’ under the ‘Swachh Bharat, Harit Bharat’ is an initiative of the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change.’  

A press release received here stated that the Director visited John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema and Highland Hall School, Naga United Village, Dimapur where he spoke about the components and importance of the campaign and encouraged the students to take part in initiatives to improve the environment and to be ambassadors of the campaign.  

The Green Pledge was also administered to the students. During his visit, a cleanliness drive was also conducted on January 29 at the Children’s Park, Kisama Heritage Village wherein officials from the Forest Department (Kohima Division) including the Divisional Forest Officer Rongsenlemla Imchen, officials from Nagaland Pollution Control Board and student leaders and students from Kigwema village participated.
