Green Pledge: Kohima Town Club XI to play against Manipur ISL XI

Kohima, June 3 (MExN): Kohima Town Club all set to host the exhibition match between Kohima Town Club XI and Kangleipak Pari, a team consisting of Indian Super League players from Manipur on Saturday at IG stadium Kohima from 5:30 pm onwards. 

This is one of a first of its kind in Nagaland where a club in collaboration with Kohima Forest Division will be organising an exhibition match to promote sports as well as create awareness on environment, stated a press release received here. 

The exhibition match aims to promote environment awareness while also give exposure to the upcoming state players against the elite team of Indian Super League team from Manipur. 

On the eve of the World environment day, around 2000 saplings will be distributed to the spectators and the players towards a green pledge. 

Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire to grace the occasion as the special guest. The event will be a night match where the players will play at the astro turf ground IG Stadium Kohima. The ticket price for the exhibition is Rs. 100 per person. 

Mentioned be made that best Kohima Town Club XI team was selected from the recently concluded Kohima Super Cup 2022. Some of the renowned ISL players from Manipur are  Mohammad Nawaz the goalkeeper of Mumbai City FC, Amarjit Singh Kiyam former U-17 world Cup captain for India, Chinglensana Singh defender for India team, Mohammad Yasir who won the recently ISL Trophy with Hyderabad FC, Bipin Singh Thounaojam etc.
