Green-SONS concerned over  hunting & poaching in Nagaland

Wokha, April 13 (MExN): The Green Succession of Nagaland State (Green-SONS) has expressed its displeasure over what it termed as the insensible present scenario of hunting and poaching in Nagaland.

The insensible Naga hunters kill wild animals and consider themselves as a very proud trophy holders and posting pictures of those slain animals on social media thus giving hindrances to the animals conservationists, the organisation maintained in a press release.  Accordingly, it appealed the Naga people to refrain from such activities.

Moreover, the Green-SONS noted that it is a breeding season for the animals and therefore urged the village councils to ban all sorts of hunting in their respective jurisdictions during this season.  The Green -SONS also appealed the Government of Nagaland to take serious note about preservation and conservation of the State's flora and fauna and requested all rank and files of the government to refrain from accepting wild animals as gifts/trophies from the village hunters to discourage such activities.
