Boney M to perform at Hornbill International Music Festival 2017

The Hornbill International Music Festival continues its trend of catering to the musical nostalgia of the state’s audience, with this year’s edition featuring a performance by German vocal group Boney M.
The group, which gained prominence in the disco era of the 70s and the 80s, will be performing live at the IG Stadium, Kohima on December 10. This was announced by the Nagaland Outdoors Club during a press conference held on November 7 at Rattle and Hum Lounge, Kohima.
The concert, which starts at 5 PM will be a one hour show, organised by the Nagaland Outdoors Club. The club mostly focuses on music events and has been initiating international concerts for the Hornbill International music festival since 2014. They have brought in acts like Smokie, Halloween, Vinny Moore etc to Nagaland.
The group was formed in 1976 and till date has performed under various line-ups with different personalities. Liz Mitchell, one of the four members of the original group will also be performing with the present Boney M band on December 10. Boney M’s hit songs such as ‘Ma Baker,’ ‘Rasputin’ and ‘Daddy Cool,’ along with their Christmas hits like ‘Feliz Navidad,’ ‘Mary’s Boy child’ and ‘Oh My Lord’ have been tremendously popular among Nagas.
The club announced that the group along with its crew will be arriving in Nagaland on December 9, spend two nights in the State and will depart on December 11.
The tickets are priced at Rs.10,000 in the Gold Pass category, which admits two persons, while the other category ticket is priced at Rs. 1000, admitting one. There will be five lucky tickets for each category, where the winners will be given the opportunity to have dinner with the members of Boney M.
Tickets will be available at Kohima (Big Bite, Jail Colony, Universal Traders-Razhü Point Main town, De Oriental Grand), Dimapur (Furtados, opp. Supermarket), Mokokchung (Soyim Printers, Near Badminton Stadium), Mon (Café Amore, Tinali Sonari Road), Pfütsero (Live Center, near Co-operative Bank), Tuensang (On Rush Café, near Tower Clock), Wokha (Freesia Shop, below DC office), Kiphire (DC Office canteen, DC Office Kiphire).
