
DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Nagaland’s Public Works Department for the supply of eight double-lane modular steel bridges, marking its first agreement with a northeastern state.
The deal aligns with India’s "Make in India" initiative, aimed at boosting regional development. The MoU was signed in Kohima by DIG Subrato Ghosh (Retd.), GRSE director (personnel), and Swarai Meru, chief engineer of PWD Nagaland, in the presence of Natarajan Partheepan, GRSE general manager (Bailey Bridges).
GRSE has previously supplied modular bridges to the Border Roads Organisation, the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. and various state governments, as well as to countries including Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The company has delivered more than 5,800 modular bridges to date.
