DIMAPUR, MAY 26 (MExN): A GST workshop was conducted at the Department of Industries and Commerce, Kohima on May 26 where more than an hundred start-ups/entrepreneurs and working professionals attended.
Sashi Wapang Lanu, IRS, Additional Commissioner Central GST highlighted the definition of GST, who needs to file for it, the process of filing, what taxes Nagas have to pay and which are exempted for the Naga people. He also explained on how GST contributes to the development of the country and the main objectives to look at while paying taxes. He also mentioned the importance of knowing one’s account and taxes as a business.
Earlier, the welcome note was given by Er. Keneirienuo Theunuo, Assistant Director, Department of Industries and Commerce and keynote address delivered by A Temjen Jamir, Director, Industries & Commerce. The workshop was organised by Educentre School of Business. This is one of many workshops under the initiative of start-up Nagaland.
