The organisers of the cultural and literary competition organised by the GSUCD.

The Gorkha Students' Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD) organised its first cultural and literary competition after the creation of Chümoukedima District for the Gorkha students of Chümoukedima on July 9 at Singrijan Village Council Hall.
The competition was organised on account of 209th Bhanu Jayanti celebration 2023 which is going to be held on July 13 at CTC hall Chümoukedima Town.
President Jacob Sundas said that such events were necessary for the Gorkha students at present because it is only during such events there is social cohesion. He said that the purpose of organizing this event was to educate them about who was Bhanu Bhakta Acharya and why do Gorkhas celebrate Bhanu Jayanti.
Jeevan Rimal, Organizing Secretary of Assam Gorkha Sammelan, who was the special guest of the event, encouraged the Gorkha students of Chümoukedima to inculcate the habit of writing and to participate actively in literary and art works to enhance one’s skill in various areas.
During the day, various competitions in singing, painting, cultural dance, extempore speech and essay writing were conducted. The winners will be awarded during the 209th Bhanu Jayanti celebration on July 13. The Cultural Gorkha Dance & Singing performance will be represented by the selected participants on the said date.
Altogether 103 Gorkha students took part in the events and competitions.
