Phek, February 21 (MExN): A guest house constructed for patients’ attendants at District Hospital Phek was inaugurated by Dr Ritu Thurr, Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Kohima on February 21.
The guest house construction initiated by the Hospital Welfare Committee (HWC) consists of four rooms, one dormitory and one kitchen. The facility will especially benefit those people coming from far flung areas and who doesn’t have any relative staying in the town for accommodation. “For staying at the guest house, the committee will charge fee at the nominal rate,” Kutolu Nakro, District Media Officer NHM Phek stated in a press release.
Towards the construction of the guest house which was a long-felt need, the hospital authority has appreciated the Lozaphuhu Baptist Church for donating a sum of Rs 6 lakh along with a truck load of bamboo which was utilised in the construction.
Dr Ritu Thurr in his speech congratulated the District Hospital Phek for their team work in the successful construction of the guest house which will benefit the general public. He encouraged the service provider to continue the good team work. Further, he urged the health care worker to be sincere, to be available in their posting place, improve the work culture and maintain discipline in work place.
A short speech was delivered by Dr Avile Zao, Chief medical Officer, welcome note was given by Dr T Ezung, Medical Superintendent DH Phek while invocation was said by Kevichosa Koza Pastor CRCP. The dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev Kevengoi Sakha and a special number was presented by Vetulu. The construction committee report was presented by Dr Shevosa Vese and it was chaired by Dr Ngopelo Keviechu, Senior Specialist DH Phek.
