
Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): A Guest House at Chen town, in one of the remotest town bordering Myanmar, was inaugurated by Minister for Rural Development CL John on April 22. The building was earlier dedicated by Pango Konyak, Associate Pastor, Chen Town Baptist Church.
It was constructed by Urban Development Department, funded under the 10% Lump Sum Scheme for North Eastern States including Sikkim, by Union Ministry of Urban Development, a press note informed.
This Guest House shall cater to the ever increasing demand for accommodation for public, officials and tourists visiting the area, it said.
At the inaugural function, the Minister thanked the Government for funding the project and urged the Management Committee of the Guest house to make sure that the building is maintained with utmost care for operation and maintenance as per the guidelines laid down by the Government.
The programme was chaired by S Takatuba Aier, Jt. Director (UD) who also delivered the welcome address. A brief report was given by Er. Ketouzo Peseyie, Executive Engineer (UD). Speech on behalf of Chen Town Council was delivered by Honje Konyak, Head GB, Chen Town and vote of thanks was delivered by Pat Keyhie, UDO, Mon town.
