KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The Gorkha Youth Association Kohima (GYAK) has announced the 1st Open Gorkha Beat Contest, scheduled for November 9, at the State Academy Hall in Kohima.
The competition will feature bands with at least four members and is open to all, regardless of community affiliation. However, participating bands must perform a minimum of two Nepali songs.
Prominent musicians and lyricists will serve as judges for the event. The top three winners will receive cash prizes, with Rs 50,000 for first place, Rs 25,000 for second place, and Rs 15,000 for third place. In addition, individual prizes of Rs 7,000 each will be awarded to the best vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer.
