Kohima, March 9 (MExN): The ten-day exhibition of handicraft and handloom at State Academy Hall, Kohima was inaugurated by Neihunuo Sorhie, Padma Shri on March 7. Altogether 20 artisans are participating in the exhibition which will run till March 16.

The exhibition is organised by NWVTI Handicraft and Handloom Producer Pvt Ltd Dimapur and sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, stated a press release.

Neihunuo Sorhie, Padam Shri in her address stated that she was impressed with the products displayed by the artisans. She encouraged the participants to create more innovative items to compete in the National and International Market and to represent the rich heritage of Nagaland Textiles and Handicraft.

Temjenlemla Jamir, Director, NWVTI Handicraft and Handloom Producer Pvt Ltd stated that the exhibition is a platform for the artisans of the producer company to display their products. Jamir said that more visitors are expected. 

Rajib Chandra Roy, Handicraft Promotion Officer, HSC, Kohima, Nagaland also attended the inaugural function.
