Harbinger of Naga friendship and unity

Mokokchung, December 20 (DIPR): Built as a symbol of friendship between Ungma village of Mokokchung district and Tuophema village of Kohima district, the Babu Tzubu Amphitheatre was inaugurated by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today at Ungma village.

Babu Tzubu Amphitheatre which presents a cultural fusion of the ancient Roman and the Greece and of modern world to suit any public gatherings was constructed by a group 26 workers from ‘Rio construction team’ in a record time of 121 days. The amphitheatres with a seating capacity of 5000 people also serve as a harbinger of Naga friendship and unity.

Addressing the gathering Rio said that the amphitheatre will be a symbol of friendship between Ungma village and Tuophema villages exist. He hoped that it would nurture the friendship and unity between the Ao and the Angami tribes and the Naga people as a whole. “One day the present leaders will go paving the way for new leaders but this symbol of friendship will remain forever,” Rio said.

 Rio further pointed out that the unique customs and traditions of the Nag people; the land and resources are protected under the Constitution of India.

Home Minister Imkong L. Imchen; Minister for Roads and Bridges G. Kaito; Kejong Chang, MLA and Advisor GBs & DBs and Phulduolhou Kense, Chairman, Village Council Tuophema also addressed the gathering. The chief minister was accompanied by Agriculture Minister Dr. Chumben Murry; Health and Family Welfare Minister Kuzholuzo Neinu and Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism Yitachu.
