For the biking aficionados in the state, say hello to Harley-Davidson!   Four Harley-Davidson bikes rumbled into Nagaland on Thursday and were on display today at the Niathu Resort, 7th Mile, Chumukedima. The bikes were also up for test rides with enthusiasts taking the opportunity to get a feel of the legendary roadsters.   The four bikes on display included the Street 750, Sportster 883, Dyna Fat Bob, and the Softail Fat Boy. Prices start from Rs. 4.8 lakhs (ex-showroom Guwahati). Also on display were Harley Davidson merchandises viz., helmets, jackets, t-shirts, trolleys etc.   The Harley-Davidson bikes have been brought to the state by Guwahati-based Brahmaputra Harley-Davidson in collaboration with Smart Auto, located at the CBZZ Building, 4th Mile, Dimapur. Smart Auto will act as an authorised sales agent for Brahmaputra Harley-Davidson in Nagaland. It will also cater as an agent for Harley-Davidson spare parts and accessories. Harley-Davidsons 2 The Street 750 is an entry level cruiser from the Harley-Davidson stable designed to dominate the urban landscape. Built for quick moves and tight turns, the Street 750 features the all-new liquid-cooled Revolution X powertrain and upswept exhausts that belt out the iconic Harley rumble. Weighing 222 kgs, this bike is 2225 mm in length and has a ground clearance of 145 mm – the highest among Harley-Davidson bikes.   “Comfort, control and confidence is what oozes out of the rider when on a Harley-Davidson,” was how a bike enthusiast described of the test ride experience today. “Can’t tell how they’ll handle the roads here but for someone used to economy bikes, it without doubt felt different…the throttle, the rumble, the pickup, the brakes… felt strong… swaying easy on the bends, the rubber kissing the road like it was his bride.”   One of the best selling Harley-Davidson bikes, the Iron 883 is powered by a four stroke, air cooled, V-twin, 883cc engine which belts out an impressive peak torque output of 70 Nm. This engine comes coupled with a 5-speed gearbox.   The Fat Bob is a great way to turn heads while having a blast on two wheels. Weighing in at 325 kgs, this cruiser boasts a 1584 cc engine and comes with a 6-speed gearbox enabling one to get ripping down the road with ease.   The Fat Boy with the rear-wheel suspension hidden under the transmission is visually similar to the "hardtail" choppers popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Famous for having appeared in many Hollywood movies, this bike was also used by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator II and John Travolta in Wild Hogs. The Fat Boy weighs 341 kgs and is powered by a 1690cc engine that produces 132Nm of torque.   The Harley-Davidson bikes will be on display on Saturday again from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm before heading back to Guwahati. So don’t miss this golden opportunity. Test ride and book your Harley-Davidson today!
