Yes:
• Government of Nagaland has definitely received the funds and used it for building private holiday infrastructure under Politics Khelo self-reliant scheme. Their results are white NL 10-SUVs on our pot-holed roads and pot bellied centralised development, while sports person travel to small centres with their torn shoes and eating dal, bhaat and eskoos, so results are seen!
No:
• We have not seen or heard, any sports person who have bought laurels. Since, 45 Crores was given to Nagaland, one would start questioning the concerned authority and department, where did the money go, where was it invested, and where are the results? Can that be answered? No physical results is even visible!
• Full of corruptions.
• Check the sports development fund being diverted to different irrelevant sectors. Not just 2018, but prior to that also, since all these have a cascading effect.
• No, the Nagaland government lacks commitment and vision to develop sports infrastructures in Nagaland. Unfortunately, in Nagaland, things are often left only to politicians and bureaucrats, this is a mistake. There is a need for professional consultants and think tank bodies if there is to be improvement in policy implementation in Nagaland.
• Where are the sports person groomed and trained under Khelo India? Or any success story? We all know the answer? Talent and Hardwork has no age limit. Look at the Turkish shooter in his 50s, who claimed the Silver in Paris Olympics, the Korean shooter in her 30s! We need to scout for talent in all fields, train them now! Nagas are capable to compete in Global levels, I have no doubt! The only doubt I have is in the accountability of our concerned Nagaland Government to really oversee the benefits of our everyday people!
