
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 27 (MExN): Hayithung Bill Lotha, former Independent candidate for Nagaland's lone parliamentary seat, has rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after a six-year absence.
Lotha, who previously held positions as National Secretary (North East Incharge) of the BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) from 2013 to 2016 and National Secretary of the BJP ST Morcha from 2017 to 2018, had resigned from the party in December 2018.
In his statement, Lotha said he was inspired to return to the BJP by what he describes as the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he regards as "the greatest Prime Minister of India in the 21st century."
He thanked central BJP leaders for their support and encouragement and pledged his loyalty to the party's ideology and principles.
He also committed to diligently working in any capacity assigned to him by the party leadership, starting with the All India BJP Enrollment Drive beginning on September 1, 2024.
