DIMAPUR, JUNE 7 (MExN): Independent candidate, Hayithung Bill Lotha has congratulated INC candidate S Supongmeren Jamir for his “historic and record thumping victory” in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election.
Stating that such victory has never been seen in Lok Sabha battles in Nagaland ever since its statehood in 1963, Lotha, in a press release, termed it as a “most humiliating defeat of the force and strength of the ruling PDA’s 60 MLAs against the aptly named Superman Supongmeren Jamir.”
“I sincerely wish that Supongmeren will be a 'good performing Lok Sabha MP' keeping the interest and aspirations of Nagaland as of paramount value,” he added.
While humbly accepting his defeat, Lotha expressed gratitude to his supporters and well wishers for their votes. This is the second consecutive electoral defeat in the Lok Sabha elections since 2019, Lotha nevertheless said it has not dented his “fiery spirit to participate and win in a democratic contest.”
Lotha also thanked fellow competing candidate, Dr Chumben Murry for his 'energetic and motivating campaign' and wish him the best in all his future endeavours.
Also reaffirming to wholeheartedly work for the fulfillment of the Frontier Nagaland Territory demand of Eastern Nagaland, Lotha urged the ENPO to participate and elect their favoured candidate in the future LS elections while reminding that “no vote means no power to decide.” He said FNT can only happen through a friendly Prime Minister who is politically indebted.
