Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): A free heart disease detection camp for children was organised by the Department of Health & Family Welfare Nagaland and Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Imphal, Manipur at District Hospital Dimapur on June 18.
According to a press release, a total of 42 children availed the services during the camp. Free consultation and echocardiogram (echo) screening were provided to all the beneficiaries. Out of the 42 children who were screened, 13 children were detected with Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) such as; Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus). Under RBSK Scheme, these cases will be treated by Shija Hospitals, the release stated.
The camp was held under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), National Health Mission. The team of medical personnel from Shija Hospitals was led by Dr Lukram Sidarta, Consultant, CTVS, Shija Hospitals, Imphal, Manipur, it added.
