Health camp at Dimapur Railway Bazaar

Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): Under the initiative of Dimapur District Administration, a health camp was organised by the Department of Health & Family Welfare at Railway Bazaar on June 21. The health camp was organised to provide health services to those affected by the water logging at West Yard, Railway Bazaar Colony, Manipuri Bosti, Chatteswari and Grace Colony and also to prevent any outbreak of diseases.  

The health camp was carried out by Dr. Mhashevisu Sothu, Jr. Specialist, District Hospital, Dr. Yiben, UPHC-II and Dr. Anguto, UPHC-I and staff under National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) and Urban Vector Borne Disease Surveillance (UVBDS). Beneficiaries who registered during the camp were screened for any water borne diseases.  

Around 70 patients were diagnosed and treated after screening for water borne diseases and skin diseases caused by polluted water. Blood samples were also collected for suspected malaria cases. Free medicines were also distributed under NUHM.  

Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, has informed that the medical department will stay prepared for any emergencies and further requested the citizens to have concerns in removing the stagnant water at the earliest to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
