Officials of the Health Department visited Zunheboto district.

Zunheboto, October 20 (MExN): Anoop Khinchi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Health & Family Welfare, visited Zunheboto district to assess the region's healthcare infrastructure and challenges. He was accompanied by senior health officials, including Dr. Kikameren Longkumer, Joint Director DHFW, Dr. J. Hokugha Sema, Deputy Director DHFW, and Dr. Alemwapang Aier, State Programme Officer (NCD).
The visit included an inspection of the ongoing construction of the District Hospital and visits to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and District Hospital offices. During a joint meeting held at the District Hospital’s conference hall, district officials presented key challenges, including infrastructure deficits and workforce shortages, urging immediate state intervention. The meeting, which included health department officials and the district administration, highlighted the urgent need for improved facilities and staffing in local health centers.
Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, emphasized the importance of focusing on Akuhaito Aspirational Block to achieve full saturation of health services and meet all key performance indicators (KPIs). Deputy CMO Dr. Antoly Suu delivered a PowerPoint presentation, detailing the district's current healthcare status. A separate meeting with civil society organizations was also scheduled to address land ownership issues concerning the District Hospital site.
