Health dept conducts training on COVID-19 in Phek

Phek, June 27 (MExN): Phek district conducted training on COVID-19 for officers and staff of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service and Social Welfare Department at conference hall, District Hospital Phek on June 26.


Dr Vibeituonuo Mepfuo, Chief Medical Officer, Phek in her keynote address has highlighted the main objectives of the training. She reiterated that with the increasing cases in the state, the health department will need the support and assistance from the allied departments in case of any eventuality. 


The CMO also acknowledged the Anganwadi workers (AWW) for their continued support on community based activities and also further sought their cooperation during this time of need. She also thanked the departments for promptly responding and adhering to the training imparted by the medical department. 


Practical demonstration of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) donning and doffing was also given by nurse of District hospital. 


The participants were trained and sensitized on containment strategy, contact tracing, rational use of PPE, management of dead bodies etc.


The resource persons from the health department included Dr Lanuakum (DSO), Dr Kolhitso Khalo (DPO RCH/UIP)and Dr Wetshelo T Mero (Sr Pediatrician), District Hospital Phek.
