Health mela at Tongtongo sub-center held

Wokha, March 22 (MExN): The District Health Society, (NHM) Health & Family Welfare Wokha organized and conducted a one day health mela at Tongtongo SC under Ralan, block Wokha on March 17.  

A team of nine doctors led by Dr. Enrithung CMO, Dr. Dr. Tumchobeni Dy.CMO, Dr. Zuben Kikon DVBO, Dr. Zathung DPO(RCH/UIP), Dr. Mhonchan ZLO, Dr. Benchilo DTO Dr. Emmanuel SMO, Dr. L.A Kikon, (O&G)  Dr. Nzanthung (Dental), Dr. L.T Tsanglao MO  Dr. Liphamo along with Ophthalmic Assistant, Lab- technician, from RNTCP, NVBDCP, MICTC, Pharmacist, Nurses, attendants, DPM (NHM), DPO (DAPCU)  provided medical aid during the mela.  

A total of 261 patients availed free medical checkups. 4 CU-T INSERT IGNOREions, 8 ANC check-ups, 10 dental extractions 20 ophthalmic cases (refractive errors), 2 cataract, 35 blood test on Malaria, 6 sputum tests, 20 Blood glucose and MICTC Team conducted 12 Blood tests. Free medicines were provided to the patients.  

FGD sessions on the importance of Maternal Child health, Family Planning, Immunization, breastfeeding, JSY, JSSK, leprosy, Iodine. Nutritional packs were given to the pregnant and lactating mothers. Posters, handouts, leaflets on different health topics in local dialect were distributed to the villagers. Earlier, in a brief gathering R. Hayithung Ngullie, former Assistant General Secretary, LSU chaired the programme, invocation prayer by Rev Renpomo Humtsoe of Ronsuyan village, short speech by Chairman VCC Old Ralan, Shri, Thungchanbemo Tungoe SDO (C) Ralan declared open the Health Mela.  

The CMO and his staffs would like to express our gratitude to DC Wokha Shri Wezope Kenye for arranging additional medicines for the health mela, Soren Kikon CDPO, Wokha for the nutritional food items for distribution and to the public of Ralan area for the co-operation and support rendered in making the Health Mela a success.
