
Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): The District Task Force (DTF) held a meeting on Intensified Diarrhea Campaign Fortnight (IDCF), Weekly Iron Folic Supplementation (WIFS) and Mission Indradhanush (MI) on June 2 at DC’s Conference Hall, Dimapur.
The meeting was held to review the performance of the previous three Rounds of Immunization Mission Indradhanush and to sensitize its members on the action plan to be carried out during the 4th Round of the Mission and upcoming IDCF and matters relating WIFS.
Dr. Lanuakum, DPO, UIP-RCH, reoriented the members on IDCF and WIFS and also presented the performance of the district during the 3rd Round of MI. He stated that every third child in our country is either partially vaccinated or unvaccinated; therefore MI has been initiated to intensify immunization of selected high risk areas. On the upcoming Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight (IDCF), Dr. Lanuakum presented the core elements of IDCF and week wise pre-planning activities for IDCF.
Imli, Project Officer, UNDP also updated the members on eVIN and informed the members on the ongoing process of installing Temperature Loggers on ILRS in all the Cold Chain Points (CCP) and Deep freezer at District Vaccine Store to ensure that temperature is maintained at all CCPs at the recommended range; thereby guaranteeing that the vaccines given are potent and safe.
Kesonyu Yhome, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DTF suggested that DTF should notify the State health Authority on any issues related to the implementation of the activities.
The meeting was attended by the stakeholders of the various department; Administration, Social Welfare, Education, UNDP, DMC and Medical.
