
Peren, July 9 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office, Peren district held its district level Family Planning (FP) orientation cum review meeting on Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) and Population Stabilization Fortnight on July 8 at the CMO’s conference hall, Peren.
The meeting was attended by DPO UIP/RCH, Medical Officers, pharmacist and nurses, District Program Management Unit staff consisting DPM, DAM, DMO, BPMs and ASHA coordinators.
The CMO of Peren, Dr Ngangshimeren urged all the staff to be sincere and be in their place of posting to provide quality service delivery. He further requested the health workers to motivate and sensitize at the grassroots level, a press release from District Media Officer, CMO office, Peren informed.
Meanwhile, Dr. Khrielasanuo, DPO UIP/RCH briefed the gathering about the guidelines to be followed during the fortnight programmes. Stressing that ASHAs are the main component in the fortnight, she informed that every ASHA will distribute ORS to all families with under five children and deliver key messages to the mothers during her household visit. ASHA should distribute her workload in such a way that she covers all the households of under-five children and would demonstrate and explain the method of ORS preparation, it was stated. She requested the ASHA coordinators to brief all their ASHAs about the IDCF and Population Stabilization fortnight. Meanwhile, Medical Officers and ANMs were asked to work in coordination with the other health workers for the success of the program. It was also informed that reports are to be submitted on time.
All the members were asked to carry intensive awareness about Family Planning and Health Units to conduct counseling during the OPD hours, provide FP service delivery such as distribution of condoms, OCP, E-pill, IUCD INSERT IGNOREion and lab legation. Inter personal communication are to be conducted by the ASHAs in all the villages and focus group discussion to be held in all the four blocks by IEC personnel.
IEC materials, condoms and contraceptives pills, pregnancy test kit and Copper T were distributed to the Health Units.
