Hearing aid distribution camp at DDRC held

DIMAPUR, December 15 (MExN): A diagnostic and fitment camp for the hearing impaired was held on December 13 and 14 at the DDRC, District Hospital, Dimapur. The camp was jointly organized by the DDRC and AYJNISHD (D)-Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Speech and Hearing Disabilities, Mumbai.  

Dr. Imlitemsu Ozukum, MD (PMR) in a press released informed that a team led by Ranjit Bhattacharya, Director, SERD, AYJNISHD (D), Mumbai, and three technical staff from its Kolkata centre, Anupam Das (Vocational Counsellor), Himanshu (Audiometrist) and Palash (Audiometrist) provided the camp with support from the DDRC staff.  

Altogether, 76 (Seventy-six) persons with disabilities with hearing impairment were assessed and distributed Digital Programmable BTE Hearing Aids free of cost.  

Dr. Imlitemsu Ozukum, MD (PMR), i/c DDRC, District Hospital, Dimapur also said that this camp for the PwDs was initiated by the DC, Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, who is also the Chairman, District Management Team of the DDRC. He thanked the Deputy Commissioner, SDO (C) James Swu, MS of District Hospital, Dimapur, Dr. CW Tungoe, Dr. Manie (ENT specialist), audiometrist Michael, and the Prodigals Home CBR workers led by Obed Yanthan for their involvement and support in the success of the camp.
