Tuensang, September 10 (MExN): Movement of heavy and loaded commercial vehicles has been restricted along a stretch of National Highway-202 near New Tsaru Village in Tuensang district following damage caused by landslides triggered by heavy rainfall. Deputy Commissioner Tuensang Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, in a travel advisory, stated that the highway at Chainage 41.00 KM has been severely damaged, rendering the stretch unsafe and vulnerable to movement of heavy vehicles.
The restriction on heavy vehicles and loaded commercial vehicles has come into effect immediately. Only light motor vehicles will be permitted to pass through the affected stretch, with caution, the advisory stated. Commuters and vehicles seeking alternate connectivity have been advised to use the Thonger-Alisopur-Longmisa-Mokokchung Road, Yangli-Yehemi Road, or Tuensang-Longleng Road.
